As 2018 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to look back and reflect upon the highlights of the past year and look towards 2019.
This past year we won a contract with MAN Marine Engines and Systems, a world leader in the design and manufacturing of low and medium speed marine engines, to provide data analytics services in support of their in-house engine maintenance programs. This new customer is another example of how versatile our technical platform is and how beneficial it can be to wide variety of maritime sectors.
In 2018, we also won a contract with Ørsted, a world leader in the development, construction and operations of offshore wind farms, to provide them with an automated solution to support the protection of sub-sea power cables. We are proud of this contract as it shows a substantial commitment from Ørsted and expresses their professional trust in GateHouse Maritime solutions.
Our efforts in the development of the North American market continued, winning a contract with G&H Towing to provide operational support for tugboat billing and dispatch. As G&H Towing is a leader in the tugboat industry, it is expected that this contract will further solidify our position in the port community market. GateHouse Maritime also built upon its decade long relationship with the Marine Exchange of Alaska to provide them with additional capabilities in support of their mandates. Through the delivery of professional solutions and our focused marketing efforts, our profile has been raised in the port community and government authority market spaces. We look forward to further solidifying our position in these markets in 2019.
In 2018, GateHouse Maritime launched the previously announced maritime logistics service in cooperation with US based Project44 to help optimize transportation and cargo logistics by providing up-to-date and accurate estimated time of arrival (ETA) information for ports worldwide. The ETA information is available several weeks in advance. The service has been well received and we see great potential for it going forward. 2018 also marked GateHouse Maritime’s entry into the military intelligence market. This market space provides us with opportunities to further develop our data analysis capabilities and strengthen our platform to benefit all our customers.
Throughout the year we have enjoyed cooperating with our many established customers and meeting new people in the market. We are very pleased to find that most of our new customers learn of us through positive recommendations from our long-time customers. We are very humbled by the appreciation and trust we feel due to your recommendations of us. It is our hope and intent to live up to our reputation for both long-time as well as brand new customers.
