The Satellite Industry Touch Base in Washington

This week we attended the Satellite 2018 conference in Washington D.C., where more than 14,500 industry peers convened to share knowledge of satellite communications and space technology. The conference offered inspiring keynotes and comprehensive sessions with focus on all the latest satellite trends.

At the conference we were very interested to explore the industry’s perception on the recent developments within LEO satellites and whether this is more than a short-term trend. The field sees a great deal of activity, with many new LEO systems and services set to launch in the coming years, but also a market-wise very broad interest. From our perspective, it seems the development and broader market interest is only further solidifying the field as one we aim to service with our waveforms and test tools.

VT iDirect had brought along the Global Xpress Link Emulator as an example of a quality complimentary product from their platform ecosystem.

Participating in the conference has been most rewarding, because of the industry-wide satellite technology knowledge sharing, but perhaps most importantly due to the many great conversations with both customers and peers. It never fails to create a fascinating and motivating energy when so many from the industry is gathered. We are already looking forward to coming back next year!
