GateHouse Telecom recently hosted a series of meetings where roadmaps for our BGAN components and test tools were discussed with our partners to align expectations to market development in Inmarsat BGAN.
Our partners cover half the BGAN terminal market and being a contributor of key commodity components GateHouse Telecom is conscious of the responsibility and impact on the value they provide their customers. We are therefore continuously improving our products to ensure optimal conditions for our partners to deliver the value and competitive edge demanded by their customers. To ensure a coherence between our product developments and our customers’ needs we find it is of utmost importance that we regularly align our roadmaps with our partner’s requirements through open dialogue.
Our latest roadmap discussions have shown that Inmarsat BGAN network is just as robust as we expected and far from being outdated. It is the preferred safety and security solution with global coverage securing rock-solid connectivity for those in need. Partners are bringing new terminals and new features to the market and they are keen on engaging with GateHouse Telecom to secure an aligned roadmap going forward.
From these discussions we have even experienced interest in a new and wider definition of a BGAN terminal. The requirements are for it to become much smaller, more integrated and even built on ready-made modules or OEM terminals.
Our yearly roadmap meetings are held exclusively for our customers and partners. We will be hosting the next roadmap meetings in the beginning of 2021, or sooner if there is a need for it. We encourage our customers and partners to let us know if they have any input or they wish to attend the next roadmap meetings.
For any other interested peers, please get in touch if you would like to know the current GateHouse Telecom roadmaps or advice on which direction you could go to get satellite-based connectivity.
